Yaya Toure has pledged to ignore critics of his early-season form to concentrate on Manchester City's Premier League title grapple with Chelsea.

C?te d'Ivoire midfielder Toure blasted reigning champions City in the lead en route to a crucial 3-0 league victory at Southampton on Sunday. The 31-year-old vowed to shrug journey fallout coming from a hectic twelve months and drag City right back in the title fight, while using Manchester men now trailing leaders Chelsea by six points.

"Personally it is important is I strive to try and do my best for your team," Toure said. "Sometimes people are not thinking were people, people are always seeking to criticise you even though you're a human being. Therefore i never think about those activities, I make an effort to consentrate on my team.

"The Premier League is vital, and after we lose we're going to get criticised. But we've just adopted to fight 'till the end: our squad is fantastic so we understand specifically how to fight entirely within this league. Teams will invariably step up their game against us, and then we know we have to try and keep place with Chelsea."
City will go Wearside to consider Sunderland in the Stadium of Light on Wednesday night, the hosts fresh from holding Chelsea with a 0-0 stalemate inside the North East on Saturday. Talismanic midfielder Toure admitted City are well alert to the dimensions of task ahead against Gus Poyet's side following the 3-0 St. Mary's win, where Frank Lampard and Gael Clichy also found online. City captain Vincent Kompany faces a race against time to overpower hamstring trouble to take care of Sunderland, with Toure contacting his side to keep their improved teamwork.

"Wednesday will likely be tough: we've got always been unlucky for the Stadium of sunshine," Toure said. "They're very compact, strong in the dust and also have a great counter-attack, and we know our old teammate Johnson arrive at us wonderfully. 3 to 4 games winning back to back is incredibly perfect for confidence. It was an incredible result for us (at Southampton): they are scoring a lot of goals as home.
